WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Area School District received a ‘giant’ donation of school supplies and other household items earlier this month thanks to the generosity of Giant Food Stores.
Employees from five local Giant stores donated school supplies to the district and six Giant team members personally delivered the over 2,600 items. The supplies included backpacks, filled pencil boxes, tissues, paper towels, notebooks, and hand sanitizer.
“We are so grateful for our exceptional partners like Giant,” said Tricia Alston, West Chester Area School District social worker coordinator. “Their generosity and continued commitment to making our community a better place to live, work, and learn is not only beneficial for our families and students but also an example of how we can all work to support each other.”
Caseworkers for the school district divided the supplies and distributed them to economically disadvantaged students in the district’s 17 schools.
