POTTSTOWN, PA — Owen J. Roberts School District (OJRSD) is welcoming two new elementary principals to the district. At its Board of Directors meeting Monday night, the OJRSD Board of Directors appointed Ms. Heather Gillan-Esposito as the principal of North Coventry Elementary and Dr. Jeffrey Detweiler as the principal of West Vincent Elementary. Both new assignments will be effective on July 1, 2022, and the principals will be in place and ready to welcome students in time for the new school year.

“These assignments were approved by Board members at Monday’s Regular Board of Directors Meeting,” said Dr. Will Stout, superintendent of OJRSD. “Last week, senior leadership announced each new principal’s appointment to their respective faculty and staff and everyone is looking forward to welcoming Ms. Gillan-Esposito and Dr. Detweiler to our district.”

Gillan-Esposito most recently held the title of Assistant Principal of Radnor & Ithan Elementary Schools in Wayne, PA. Prior to that assignment, she served as Dean of Students and has over 13 years of classroom teaching experience. She is replacing Mr. Brad Bentman, who accepted the position of Director of Pupil Services at OJRSD beginning July 1.

Detweiler has held the title of Principal of Avon Grove Intermediate School (AGIS) since 2015. Prior to that assignment, he served as Assistant Principal at AGIS and was a classroom teacher at OJRSD’s East Vincent Elementary School for eight years.

With them, both newly appointed principals bring extensive experience in instructional leadership, operational stability, disciplinary management and administrative leadership that is necessary to ensure student and building success in the district.

“I have no doubt that Ms. Gillan-Esposito and Dr. Detweiler will have a smooth transition to our district and will bring the determination and dedication to ensure that our students are provided with the educational experiences they deserve,” said Stout.
