WEST CHESTER, PA — Parents in the West Chester area searching for high-quality child care, preschool and school-age virtual support programs that prioritize health and wellness now have a new option with the opening of The Malvern School of Westtown. On Monday, January 18, the newly constructed school – The Malvern School’s 27th location, its fifth in Chester County – began welcoming students ages six weeks to 12 years old to its early childhood education programs designed to nurture, engage and develop the whole child.

The Malvern School of Westtown is conveniently located at 5 East Pleasant Grove Road in West Chester – diagonally across the street from Stetson Middle School and right down the street from Sarah Starkweather Elementary School.

“With the COVID-19 pandemic, parents are under more pressure than ever – which is why we have forged ahead to open The Malvern School of Westtown and provide critical early childhood education programs to families who need support caring for their young children,” says Kristen M. Waterfield, CEO & Founder of The Malvern School. “The Malvern School has always been known for offering top-notch early learning programs brought to life by forward-thinking, college-degreed educators. Amid the current landscape, we remain committed to providing an enriching environment where children can learn, play and thrive with proper health and wellness measures in place.”

The Malvern School’s health and wellness protocols exceed current licensing standards. Its enhanced health practices in response to COVID-19 are guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), its team of Health & Safety Staff and a certified Health Consultant.

“Beyond our health and wellness measures, our programs focus on the physical, emotional, cognitive and social growth of our young friends to help them reach their full potential at critical stages of their development,” adds Tiffany Nichols, Executive Director of The Malvern School of Westtown. “Most importantly, The Malvern School is a place where children will learn and feel loved.”

The Malvern School’s innovative curriculum – designed to meet or exceed the standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest early childhood accrediting organization – includes character and language development, literacy, self-help skills, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and more.

Westtown is also offering the new Malvern Virtual Partnership (MVP) Program designed to support families with school-aged (K-4) children navigate virtual learning. The MVP Program is a full day on-site program led by qualified, credentialed teachers in a small group environment that accommodates children on a hybrid or full-time virtual schedule.

The brand new facility includes nine fully-equipped classrooms, as well as two custom-designed specialty rooms with learning stations that focus on sensory experiences, the arts, reading, manipulative play and dramatic play. The grounds also feature three state-of-the-art, age-appropriate playgrounds for daily outdoor play.
