WEST CHESTER, PA — The Miss West Chester University competition takes place live on Saturday, February 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, located at 700 South High Street, on the campus of West Chester University. Twelve women currently studying at WCU will compete for more than $3,000 in scholarships through an inclusive contest that focuses on leadership, academic achievement, and service to the community. The organization has awarded close to $60,000 in scholarships to nearly 500 WCU women who have participated over the last 25 years. Tickets will be available at the door: $10 for general admission, with proceeds benefiting scholarships for contestants.

This year, the 12 finalists represent accomplished young women across student organizations and majors at WCU. Each finalist has selected a community service platform that demonstrates how they intend to impact the community, should they win the title. The competition itself will feature five key categories including: interview, casual wear, talent, and evening wear in pursuit of crowning the next Miss West Chester University 2023. The evening will include a full production show, with special appearances from WCU’s University Dance Company and Under A Rest a cappella.

During the program, Miss West Chester University 2022, Julie Stinson, a business major and Honors College student, will be celebrated for the impact she has made in the community. During her year of service, she worked with various organizations in the community and on campus to spread awareness about the importance of arts educational programming. Highlights of her year include: representing WCU at the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant, the Kennett Arts Festival, Royal Tea and Storytime at the West Chester Public Library, the West Chester holiday parades, and many other appearances and opportunities.
