Needy High School Girls Get Donated Prom Dresses from Immaculata University’s Fashion Show

IMMACULATA, PA — In celebration of its centennial year, the theme for Immaculata University’s annual Fashion Show is A Night in the 20s. The event is on Saturday, April 4, at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall on the campus of Immaculata University. In addition to the show, there will be hors d’oeuvres and refreshments; live entertainment by the band Three in One; raffle prizes; vendor tables; and guest presentations on styling hair and makeup for prom night.

With prom season approaching, Immaculata University’s Fashion Merchandising Department is holding a fundraiser during the fashion show. Profits from the event will be donated to high school girls who cannot afford prom dresses or tickets to their proms. In addition, many dresses worn in the show will be donated as well.

A collection of garments designed by Immaculata’s Fashion Merchandising students will be one of many highlights of the fashion show. The latest prom designs from David’s Bridal’s 2020 prom dress collection; selections from Elizabeth Johns Boutique; and formal cultural wear from Immaculata’s African American Cultural Society will also hit the runway. Guests of all ages will be able to experience college-level fashion merchandising projects through an editorial exhibition room, which will be on display.

Tickets for the Fashion Show are $10 for students and $25 for adults and can be purchased online at fashionshowimmaculata.eventbrite.com.
