Immaculata University to Hold Lecture on Faith and Social Media as Part of Annual Edith Stein Lecture Series

IMMACULATA, PA — Immaculata University is honored to welcome Sister Rose Pacatte, FSP, D. Min., who will be guest speaking on October 9, at 7 p.m., in the Great Hall for the 14th annual Edith Stein Lecture Series. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Theology & Philosophy Department.

Sister Rose Pacatte is the founding director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies in Culver City, CA, and is an award-winning author, film critic and online facilitator for the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community. Her lecture is titled “T.H.I.N.K. Five Ways to Bridge Faith and (Social) Media”

“Our world is completely wired and often we cannot see the real connections that seem invisible,” Pacatte claims. “In this lecture I explore questions about social media, faith, education and evangelization, [and] consider how faith can be strengthened through our engagement with media.”

The Edith Stein Lecture Series is an annual event in the spirit of Edith Stein, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, OCD, celebrating the dialogue between faith and reason.

Immaculata is a Catholic, coeducational institution of higher learning. Established by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM), Immaculata has been providing a quality education to students since 1920.
