IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY, PA — Immaculata University is hosting a presentation that introduces the high-demand field of supply chain management and explains essential success factors in today’s global marketplace. The event is being held on Thursday, April 20 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Loyola Hall, room 111 on Immaculata’s campus or virtually from 6 to 7 p.m. on meet.google.com/atf-aaxv-kmq.
Michael Stevens, MBA, supply chain management instructor at Immaculata, is the presenter. Discussion topics include an introduction to and current trends in supply chain and logistics, challenges and best practices for global supply chain collaboration and the future of digital supply chain transformation.
Both sessions are free and open to the public. Participants explore the global evolution of materials management and logistics and its growing impact on operations and customer satisfaction. In addition, attendees learn professional tips on building a resilient and efficient supply chain considering current supply disruption challenges.
In fall 2020, Immaculata launched one of the region’s first Bachelor of Science degrees in supply chain management, and the University’s first students will complete the program in May 2024. This new 126-credit major prepares students to address a substantial and unmet demand for qualified supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, sales and reverse logistics professionals.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, supply chain management is projected to be one of the fastest growing industries in recent years with employment increasing by 83% since 2008. As of February 2023, Salary.com estimates that the national average salary for supply chain managers is between $106,309 and $137,886.
