WEST GROVE, PA — State Senator Andy Dinniman recently visited Avon Grove Charter School’s (AGCS) State Road Campus to talk with faculty and students in a socially-distanced manner and to award a senatorial citation to the school.
The citation was awarded to AGCS for their stellar national rankings by Niche, who listed them in the top two percent of public schools and the top fifteen percent of charter schools in the country.
“It is clear that Avon Grove Charter School provides a welcoming, individualized space for each and every student that calls this campus their place of education,” Dinniman, who serves as Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee, said. “I’m happy to say that the diligence and care for their students is such a central part of AGCS’s mission.”
AGCS has adopted a hybrid model in the wake of the COVID pandemic, having students alternate between reduced capacity in-person classes and online classes. Much of the CARES money that they received went directly into funding for improved ventilation and consistent deep cleans for the entire school’s campus.
Dinniman took the opportunity of the visit to talk with students of various ages and grades about their favorite aspects of the AGCS environment and, for the seniors, their future paths in the collegiate space. One common thread between all the student conversations: they appreciated the focus AGCS teachers offer them.
