On July 24, 2020, SALT Performing Arts and it’s sister company, Stagelight, are thrilled to announce an expansion of theatre and educational programming into the former location of Limelight Performing Arts at 19 Hagerty Boulevard, West Chester, PA.

The former West Chester Limelight location, and the Chester Springs location will offer the new year-round Pandemic Pod School Day Camp, as well as preschool, youth, teen, and adult programming. SALT’s original location at 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs will continue to offer programming, as well.

Pandemic Pod School-Day Camp

With schools announcing online-only instruction for the Fall due to the Covid pandemic, the year-round School-Day Camp will meet the essential needs of the community whereby students in grades K – 12 can spend the day at both locations with socially-distanced work-stations, proctors available to assist them with their online learning, lunch time, afternoon enrichment, art and dance sessions, and potential outside time.

Morning and afternoon sessions available for $25/session/day, $50 for full 9 hour day.

Playhouse Pod

SALT’s popular Playhouse for Preschoolers will have a Playhouse Pod two-day a week, two hour program in West Chester featuring early childhood education, story hour, music and playtime. Cost: $18/day.

StagelightPLUS

This Fall, most children will be doing online learning for most of the day and might need some enrichment and socialization afterwards. StagelightPLUS is offering two-week-long “after-school” enrichment camps for Grades K-8.

Students will put on a showcase in two week’s time, all while receiving professional instruction in singing, acting, and dancing. Each two-week camp will meet Monday-Thursday from 5:30-7:30 PM at SALT in Chester Springs. $225/camp, 10% sibling discount available.

Stagelight University

West Chester will also be the home of a revamped Stagelight University. For ages 12 -18, Staglight U will offer an auditioned two-day a week program for both the Fall and Spring with music theory, dance, acting, audition prep, and tricks while putting on a show at the end of each semester, $750/semester.

During the summer, Stagelight in West Chester will provide professional teen and college-aged shows whereby the performers are paid.

Adult Training

Adult training will be offered at the West Chester location for the individuals looking to try something new or individuals who are looking to advance their performing abilities. Offering beginner and intermediate classes for ages 18 plus in dance boot camp, music theory, public speaking and acting improv. $125/session.

“As Fall plans for schools are being rolled out, we are seeing a huge dilemma being presented to families who have working parents, thus creating the question: What will they do to care for their child during the day and assist them with their online learning? Will they need to consider quitting their jobs or paying a fortune to hire a tutor or nanny for at least three days a week?” comments Lauren McComas, President and Artistic Director of SALT Performing Arts.

“When the Limelight space became available, it was a great opportunity to expand programming beyond our already-busy Chester Springs location, coupled with the chance to introduce some additional and much-needed community resources.

“Through the School-Day Camp, we are going to create a wonderful, uplifting, and safe place for parents to get the type of help they need during these unprecedented times. The West Chester expansion allows us to offer some exciting new teen and adult programming, as well. We are thrilled at the possibilities the expansion brings for our community.”

Starting on August 31, 2020, all programming will adhere to strict COVID protocols including limited class size, social distancing enforcement, sanitizing stations, and face coverings. Complete information about all the programs can be found at www.stagelightpa.com.
