The West Goshen Police Department Is Asking for Your Help This Holiday Season

Operation Blue Santa

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Goshen Police Department is asking for your help this holiday season. Operation Blue Santa is a program that helps those in the community who may be struggling or suffering for whatever reason.

The department collects gift cards and monetary donations to be used not just during the holidays but throughout the year to help buy food, clothes and emergency lodging. In addition to helping Santa, the department asks that you spread cheer by donating new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages.

On Christmas Eve, Operation Blue Santa is taken to the next level. Santa himself is escorted by members of the West Goshen Township Police Department on his special delivery mission. Everyone involved in this special day is filled with joy and it truly brings a smile to those who are less fortunate.

The West Goshen Police Department is looking to help out those in need this holiday season by asking citizens to make a small donation if they’re able. It’s easy – simply stop into any of the participating department sites and leave your donation of gift cards or cash with an Officer or dispatch.

These generous gifts will then be split up between different organizations, including the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County and the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, and delivered courtesy of the Police Department themselves. Anything from a Target, Walmart, or grocery store gift card to a Visa card or even just cash would be much appreciated. Each kind gesture can go a long way in helping someone for the holidays.

Visit westgoshen.org for more information on how to donate, as well as updates on other agencies participating this year. Please consider sharing this post so that others in the community may be made aware of Operation Blue Santa and the needs of local children this holiday season.
