KENNETT SQUARE, PA — LCH Health and Community Services (LCH) and West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU) have partnered to provide nutrition counseling at the LCH Kennett Square location.

The foundational pillar of LCH is the health and well-being of their patients “We are excited to harness the power of our community partnerships to enhance patient care at LCH.” commented LCH Director of Development, Kate Wickersham. “West Chester University’s College of Health Sciences (CHS) has the power of knowledge and innovation that will help us to provide personalized care that improves the health and happiness of our participants.”

These nutrition classes have brought educational resources to both patients and nonpatients of LCH. They are done virtually and in-person for those who wish to attend and are entirely free.

Nutrition counseling will bring educational resources to both patients and nonpatients of LCH. They are done virtually and in-person for those who wish to attend and are entirely free.

“Our partnership includes a program to provide nutrition counseling for interested participants supervised by myself as a Nutrition Professor and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and provided by graduate dietetic interns. CHS awarded us a grant, so that each participant will receive a fitness tracker that will monitor their physical activity, sleep, and blood pressure. Our aim is for each participant to make positive dietary changes that will improve their overall health.” said WCU Associate Professor of Nutrition Alessandra Sarcona, EdD, RDN.

To attend one of the nutrition counseling sessions please reach out to LCH Community Engagement and Education Manager, Norma Diego at ndiego@lchservices.org.
