Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Kennett Square with the 9th Annual Mushroom Drop

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Ring in the New Year with a fun and family-friendly event in Kennett Square! The Ninth Annual Mushroom Drop will take place on December 31, 2022, at Midnight. This year’s event will once again be hosted by the Mushroom Festival and the Kennett Area Restaurant & Merchant Association. There will be food available as well as entertainment leading up to the main event – the dropping of a lighted mushroom!

Beginning at 7:30 PM, there will be live entertainment in the “Circle” (under the Mushroom), including performances from Kevin Pierce, William Rose and The Robert Brothers (Ken and Jon from the Funsters). Then, at 8:55 PM, the lighted mushroom will be raised, signifying to all that Midnight is approaching.

For those wanting to celebrate New Year’s Eve without leaving home, you can tune into a virtual event beginning at 10:15 PM featuring highlights of the night’s festivities. And for an even better show, visitors are invited to park their car at Kennett High School and watch the Mushroom Drop at Midnight!
