KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Hadley, a fund of The Chester County Community Foundation, presents a talk with Dr. Elliot Engel about “The Imitable Winston Churchill”. Dr. Elliot Engel has dug into many biographies to uncover unknown stories about Winston Churchill.

These stories reveal an inspiring figure and an unseen view of Churchill. Using anecdotes, analysis, and humor, Professor Engel vividly brings to life this twentieth-century giant.

Professor Engel is praised by Stephen Chbosky, the author of The Perks of Being a Wallflower: “With each spoken word, Dr. Elliot Engel brings literature and history to life. He is not only an academic, he is an artist. For those unfamiliar with his work, do yourself a favor and get a few CDs. You will learn a lot — and you will laugh a lot. And when you go to parties, you will seem a lot smarter than you actually are. God knows it worked for me.”

Wisconsin Bookwatch states, “Professor Elliot Engel is quite possibly the most insightful, personable, and entertaining academic lecturer to come out of academia in the last fifty years. His witty, engaging speaking style imparts hard, factual information while leaving his audiences virtually spellbound punctuated by periods of laughter and flashes of insight.”

Jessie Cocks, Hadley fund committee chair expresses her excitement for this upcoming event, “Dr. Elliot is always a pleasure to listen to. His knowledge and sense of humor engage the audience, creating a lasting impression and a new understanding of an interesting topic.”

The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 3 pm and will take place at the Kennett Friends Meeting at 125 West Sickle Street, Kennett Square. It is free to attend but seating is limited. To RSVP call 610-696-0501 or go to hadleypresents.ticketleap.com.
