Detective Recognized for Crisis Negotiation Skills

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department announced that on November 30, 2022, Detective Michael Meiswich was recognized for his service as a Crisis Negotiator with the West Chester Area Regional Emergency Response Team (ERT).

Detective Meiswich served the team from its inception in 2001 until 2020 including his last few years as an Assistant Team Leader for the Crisis Negotiation Unit. Detective Meiswich has extensive coursework and experience, including a master’s degree in Psychology, that brought a wealth of knowledge, training, and experience to the team. During his time with the team, Detective Meiswich responded to numerous emergency situations with the team and completed hundreds of training hours with state, local, and federal authorities.

The West Chester ERT is comprised of select members with specialized training and skill sets from 7 police departments from our immediate area that respond as a team to high-risk situations. The primary goal of the team is to save lives.
