CHADDS FORD, PA — Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware) is hosting a free paper shredding and drug take-back event on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at his district office, One Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford. The office is located at the intersection of Route 202 and Naamans Creek Road.
Residents of the 160th District will be able to shred up to three packing boxes of materials using the on-site industrial paper shredder. The boxes will be returned to residents. Only paper, not cardboard, will be accepted. Staples and paper clips need not be removed.
“As tax season comes to a close, this is a great time to sort through old financial records and other sensitive documents to determine which ones can be destroyed,” Barrar said. “This event gives people the opportunity to conveniently get rid of those files – without worrying about how they could end up in the wrong hands, potentially resulting in identity theft.”
Also, prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and medicines can be dropped off for safe disposal by the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office. By law, needles and epi-pens will not be accepted.
The event is free and will be held rain or shine. For more information, please call Barrar’s district office at 610-358-5925.
