Who is KenCrest and What is Lifesharing?
KenCrest, a human services agency supporting 12,500 people each year in PA, CT, and DE, is headquartered in Blue Bell, PA. We have an immediate need for a caring Lifesharing provider or provider family in Chester County to match with a person who has developmental disabilities. Lifesharing involves opening one’s home and heart to an individual who desires to live in a shared, supportive family environment. Lifesharing families meet the physical, medical, emotional, and social needs of the person being supported. They provide an environment that supports full access to and integration into the community, including activities, events, employment, volunteering and more. Lifesharing families encourage and nurture the individuals goals, dreams, plans, and embrace living an everyday life.
Our Chester County Need
We have a current need for a 59-year-old, fun-loving male with a good sense of humor who enjoys sports and family activities. He attends day programs in the community two days each week, and he would like to remain in Chester County. In exchange for your participation in a Lifesharing arrangement, KenCrest provides a generous monthly tax-exempt stipend and full support to all Lifesharing families, which continue for the duration of the Lifesharing program participation. The family receives on-going agency support, including 24/7 on-call emergency support, individualized training offered in the family’s home, substitute care/respite, team support, and assistance with medical support. This is an excellent opportunity for families, including stay-at-home parents, single individuals, married couples, and empty-nesters.
